Holiday Hearts & Wagging Tails: Preparing Christmas Joy for Rescue Dogs at Dogs' Homes of Tasmania

On 11 December, participants came together to spread some festive cheer for their rescue dog friends at Dogs’ Homes of Tasmania with a special Holiday Hearts & Wagging Tails Christmas event.

The day was the culmination of weeks of thoughtful preparation, creativity, and care, as participants had been crafting handmade Christmas decorations, gifts of generous donations, and baking festive treats for the dogs awaiting their forever homes.

The morning was filled with excitement, laughter, and heartfelt moments as participants delivered their creations, fed treats to the dogs, and enjoyed the colourful Christmas-themed activities they had prepared. For many participants, the event was not just about fun — it was a meaningful way to give back to the animals who bring them confidence, connection, and joy during each weekly session.

We were thrilled to have this event covered on Daniel Doody's Good News Segment on 10 News First, which highlighted the lead-up activities and special moments from the day. You can view our segment here: https://www.hphhfoundation.org/media-news

The Holiday Hearts & Wagging Tails Christmas event was a true celebration of community, connection, and Christmas spirit—leaving both participants and dogs smiling from ear to ear.
