A Quiet Breakthrough

Hobart participant, Deij, sitting with nervous puppy

Deij, a participant in Hobart noticed a nervous puppy sitting apart from its 10 other siblings, who were all bounding around with the group. As someone who is shy in social situations herself, Deij related to the puppy instantly, so she sat nearby, calm and quiet. Bit by bit, she moved closer and noticed the puppy began to show signs of relaxation.

Eventually, they connected, sharing a special moment with soothing pats and gentle tail wags, and not long after, the nervous pup found its confidence and bounded off to play with the other puppies in the litter.

It was a small, beautiful exchange of courage and kindness that shows us that: connection starts with just one moment.
